Why I quit drinking
I’ve been quite vocal about the fact that I don’t drink alcohol on my channel, but I’ve never gone into the details of why I made the decision and how it impacted my life. Now I’m noticing a growing trend where people ranging from entrepreneurs to investors to content creators are all swearing off alcohol for life, and reporting on the pros and cons of their decision. So I decided to get a little vulnerable and share why exactly I stopped drinking alcohol, how my life changed as a result, and how I coped with the difficult transition phase. Check out this video if this is something you’re curious about or planning to do!
Credit Downgrade
For the first time in more than a decade, America’s credit rating has been downgraded. Fitch gave US credit an AA+ rating compared to its usual AAA rating, which triggered a market selloff. This comes at a time when inflation has gone up for the first time in a year, shelter costs are still high, and investors are anticipating another Fed rate hike. Here’s what Warren Buffett has to say about the credit downgrade, how this could impact markets, and what it means for your money:
The Graham Stephan show
Here’s a question to get you thinking: What’s the most money you made on a hobby project when you were 10 years old? Don’t worry if it wasn’t too much – I didn’t get started until much later myself. But I thought it was kind of interesting to see these teen sisters turn their bath bomb hobby into a $20 Million business. I recently discovered this series called My Hustle, and this story was just one of many that caught my attention. Watch this video to find out more about how they did it, and also other cool business ideas that you could use for information:
Here’s something I’m curious about – If I were to start an AirBNB in a tourist location and charge a nominal rent, like $300 a night, how many of you would be interested in trying it out?
I was going through Shelby Church’s video on the lessons she learned from starting a short-term rental, and honestly, after how much noise her entry into AirBNBs caused among followers and other creators, I was really interested to see how it had panned out. It’s a good video to check out if you’re curious about how the short-term rental business works out, and the pitfalls you need to watch out for when you’re starting.
The Iced Coffee Hour
Jordan Welch’s story is inspiring – starting with a sneaker-flipping business when he was in high school (which lost him money), he tried every kind of business idea possible, from drop shipping to creating his own product. By documenting his experience on YouTube, he’s created a goldmine of information for aspiring entrepreneurs to figure out which business ideas work, which ones don’t, how much effort is involved in each one, and the mistakes you should avoid. I’ve known Jordan for a long time – in this conversation, we went deep into his strategies and I learned a lot. Check it out:
